Chain Lightning summons a bolt of lightning that leaps between enemies, objects, and bodies of water. With each enemy or object hit, the damage of the bolt increases by 1, and the distance is extended. The range of the spell is fairly short without being extended by chaining between things. The lightning bolt will also jump to levers and flip them.
