Magic spells are learned from spellbooks scattered throughout the Catacombs or by buying them from shopkeepers. When consumed, spellbooks and plain spells burst into unextinguishable Magical flames, rendering them a 1-time use resource. Rats can steal spellbooks if chosen as Tomes (Poet ability), allowing for a new choice on what to do with the book.
Spellbooks are flammable, and like other flammable materials will be destroyed if subjected to an open flame. they will also burn if equipped as a Tome and the holder catches fire.

Since the 0.1.5 update, it is possible to use the Multicast stat boon to cast two spells at the same time. Some combinations can combine to form one strong spell.
